What were our focuses this past week?
- Writing: Students focused on drafting their realistic fiction stories! It is great to see these starting to come to life!
- Reading: We finished our read aloud, Tiger Rising. Students engaged in wonderful discussions about possible life lessons aka themes that we can take away from this book. Two of the main ideas were: friendship/how to be a friend and the need to let your emotions out- it's not healthy to keep them bottled up inside. Students continued to learn about theme the rest of the week.

- 4.1 is beginning Unit 2 this week. See parent letter for more information.
- 5.1: Students will take Unit 1 Assessment on September 24th
- 4.2 Unit 2 Assessment will be taken on September 24th
- Social Studies: Students continued learning about the American Revolution. Key events focused on were: the 1765 Stamp Act, The Townshend Acts, The Boston Massacre, and the Boston Tea Party.

- September 20-24: College Week
- Students will learn all about college! Teachers may show students their college's website, pictures of the campus, discuss possible areas of study, and answer any questions students may have.

- September 24: Picture Day!!
