We hope you all had a wonderful weekend! It's hard to believe that February is LITERALLY right around the corner! This year is already seeming to fly by! Hopefully you all were able to attend our school play, The School Zone, this past Friday and Saturday. Our fourth graders (and all other cast members) were AMAZING! We hope you enjoyed the show as much as we did!! Below are our reminders, announcements, and homework schedule for the week. As always, please reach out to your child's teacher if you have any questions!
Some General Reminders and Announcements:
Field Trip to Sparkles of Kennesaw THIS Friday, January 31! Don't forget that our field trip to Sparkles is this Friday! Please make sure students are at school on time so we can promptly board buses at 8. If students are bringing a lunch, please make sure it is in a plastic or paper bag that can be thrown away. Water bottles that are disposable are preferred, too. Please have your child wear their house shirt (yellow, read, green, or blue) that they received the first week back from Winter Break! Lastly, students do NOT need to bring money, or anything else with them. Just their lunch, water bottle, and a jacket :)
Save the Date! Hands on New Prospect Day is coming up on February 22nd! Did you know that Fulton County only cuts the grass outside the school? All landscaping and any upkeep of our grounds has to be done by the school without any personnel to do help us. With this in mind, we are having a family event called Hands on New Prospect where we will spruce the place up a little bit and have some fun, too!
Mark Your Calendar:
- Saturday February 22nd 9:00am-2:00pm (Rain Date: February 29th)
This event is sponsored by the NPE PTA and the New Prospect Environmental Committee.
STEAM Day is Coming Up! Our second annual STEAM DAY is coming up on Thursday, February 13th! We are so excited for a FULL day of STEAM related activities! Our activities will include:
- Time with Project FDL (3D printing)
- Geode Creation
- Constructing Robotic Hands
- A Barge Building Challenge
Valentines Day: We will celebrate Valentine's Day on Thursday, February 13th! If students with to build their own Valentine box at home, they certainly may! We will do our Valentine exchange during our homeroom/morning meeting time, before we begin STEAM Day.
Next RFF Day is coming up! Students will not have school on Friday, February 14th. Enjoy your 3 day weekend! :)
Important Upcoming Dates:
Please note that test dates are always considered tentative. If in the future the team decides that a test date needs to be changed (usually in the form of being pushed back if we feel that the students are not ready), we will communicate the change to you all.
