We hope you all had an awesome weekend! It was so wonderful to see so many of you at Friday's Back to School Bash; we hope you all had a great time!
Time is already flying by, and we are now in our 3rd week of school! We are still working hard to learn our fourth grade routines and expectations, but the kiddos are getting the hang of it! Additionally, our content blogs are starting this week. To access our reading, writing, math and science/social studies blogs, simply hover over the 'Fourth Grade Blog' header up above, and a drop down menu will appear. Then, simply select the blog you would like to access. We will update content blogs at the beginning of every unit.
Some General Reminders and Announcements:
Chorus Forms: If your child plans to join chorus this year, please be sure to get their signed permission slip in this week! Thank you!
Student Council Applications: Please note that Student Council Rep applications are due this Friday! No late applications will be excepted, so please make sure your kiddo gets this in on time!
STEM Lab Needs (From Mrs. Davis): It is time to replenish the Stem “Store.” I am in need of water bottles, small boxes (shoe, etc.), paper (newspaper and magazines), and any cool little things you think our amazing engineers could use.
Transportation Changes: Please remember that you MUST email or send in a note to your child's teacher if you plan for your child to go home another way then what is documented as their 'regular' form of transportation. Please do not simply tell your child to tell us, they MUST have a note :)
Additionally, the earlier you can get your transportation change in, the better (especially if you are emailing us). We want to ensure that we have enough time to see the email, and notify the front desk before dismissal begins. Thank you for your attention to this.
Birthday Treats: If you plan on sending in a treat to school for your child's birthday, please email/send in a note to your child's teacher at least 2-3 days in advance. Many classes have allergies, and this is something your child's teacher will need to communicate with you prior to the treats coming to school.
Blue Folders/Signed Papers: If you have any remaining signed papers that were in the blue NPE folders from Sneak Peek please send them in. We want to make sure we are all up to date with our student information! :) Also, please make sure to check your kiddo's blue folder regularly! Many important papers will be making their way home these next few of weeks :) We typically send home important papers/flyers on Thursday, though some quizzes/tests may come home on other days (we try to send them home asap so they can be reviewed.)
Agendas: Students are to show you their agendas on Monday night. On Monday morning during homeroom we write in our homework for the whole week, along with any upcoming important dates. You only need to sign once for Monday to indicate that you looked at the homework for the week. We will check for your signatures on Tuesday morning during homeroom. Homework will officially start this week (8/19).
Class Dojo: If you have not joined Class Dojo, please make sure to do so! Class Dojo is a wonderful resource for parents to see how their kiddos are doing throughout the day/week! We also use Class Dojo to share what we are doing in our classroom (via pictures/videos) and to message you all when needed.
