Happy Monday Panther Families!
It's hard to believe that we are already at the end of October! It's been a busy first ten weeks of school and the students are well aware of our routines, procedures, and expectations now! With the Thanksgiving break right around the corner, keeping up with homework assignments and using time wisely during classroom time will be extremely important. Students have been working hard each day on their choice boards during Word Work and Science time, have been diving into research during reading, learning how to support reasons with evidence during writing, and focusing on different levels of math content in their respective math classes. We are proud of the effort that our students are putting forth each day!
Some General Reminders and Announcements:
School Play: Auditions for he school play, "Happily Ever After", will be held on Monday, November 12th (3:45-6) and Tuesday, November 13th (3:45-6). Please sign your child up for a 4-minute audition time slot on one of these two days. The sign-up schedule will be available on the PTA website (https://newprospectpta.membershiptoolkit.com.schoolplay) starting November 1st and will close at 3pm on November 9th.

The first rehearsal/read through will be on November 14, and rehearsals will resume after the break on November 26.
If you have any questions, please email Michelle Kahoiwai. [email protected].
Progress Skills Checklists (PSC's): This document will be coming home with your child this week in the report card envelope. It is similar to an interim report, but only shows an "S" or an "N" for specific standards in different content areas. Please keep the document at home, then sign and send back the envelope with your child.
Buzz! Buzz! The Spelling Bee is coming to town! Mark your calendars. All Fourth Grade students will participate in a classroom spelling bee on Tuesday, November 26. This is two days after we return from Thanksgiving break. Spelling lists will be sent home with students in this Thursday's blue NPE folder. All students will be asked to participate, it's a good way to practice speaking and presentation skills. However, only one student will move on to represent our class in the school Spelling Bee, which will be held on December 5 from 8-9am. The winner from the school-wide Spelling Bee will move on to the county bee, which will be held in January.
STEM Lab Donations: The STEM lab is in need of water bottles, 2L soda bottles, toilet paper and paper towel rolls, and boxes (cereal, shoe etc.) If you can donate these items, Mrs. Davis would greatly appreciate it! She will have a donation box outside of her room. Thank you in advance!
Save the Date! Taste of New Prospect-November 8th
Taste of New Prospect, our school’s opportunity to highlight the food and fashion from the cultures represented by our students and staff, will be held on November 8 from 6-7:30pm. Invitations to sponsor a table or participate in the fashion show were sent home on September 27th. Start thinking about how you can participate in this exciting event and share more about your cultural background
