Meet Your 4th Grade Teachers!
Meet Ms. Smith!
Hello! My name is Raechel Smith. This is my 12th year at New Prospect, where I've had many hats, including TAG, ESOL, EIP, 5th grade, and 4th grade. This will be my 7th year teaching 4th grade at the school, and I absolutely love this age group and the curriculum.
I grew up in Alpharetta, and now I live in Sandy Springs, right on the Chattahoochee River. I graduated from Georgia State University with a BS in Early Childhood Education and an ESOL endorsement. I have always had a passion and love for teaching, and I look forward to each day and what my students will teach me next. While I don't have any children of my own, I have a miniature schnauzer named Henry who might as well be my son, and I am also the world's greatest aunt to my 9-year-old nephew, Rhett. I love cooking, exploring in nature, shopping, and being with my friends and family. I also spent this summer learning stained glass, which has become a challenging new hobby for me.
I'm looking forward to a great year with our great students and staff.
Meet Ms. McCarthy!
Hi! My name is Sarah McCarthy, and I am so excited for another great year at NPE! This is my seventh year of teaching at New Prospect and my third year in fourth grade! I graduated from the University of Georgia in May of 2015 (Go Dawgs!!) I got engaged last year, so I spent my summer working on wedding plans. We are getting married this November in Roswell, GA, so I will soon be Mrs. Davidson! I am also really close to my family and enjoy spending time with them. I have a 3 year old Boston Terrier named Preston, which the kids will see plenty of pictures of; he definitely keeps me busy! I love being active, playing soccer, traveling, spending time on the water, exploring new places and trying new restaurants, playing board games, and crafting. My love of crafting is definitely represented in my classroom. I go to Michigan every summer to a place called Watervale where I spend time on the lake and quality time with my family before the end of summer; it is my favorite place.
I am excited for this new year and getting to know all of you! I strive to create a positive and fun learning environment where I help students GROW, CELEBRATE their successes, and ensure each day that they know that they MATTER.
Meet Ms. Moore!
