Current Unit Information:
4.1 Math - Unit 6: Geometry

4.2 Math - Unit 4 (5th Grade) : Adding, Subtracting, Multiplying and Dividing Fractions
- This week we will continue learning how to add and subtract fractions with unlike denominators. There will be a quiz on 5NF1 on Wednesday, 3/31.
5.1 Math - Unit 6: Volume & Measurement
- This week we are continuing to learn about volume, and how volume is additive. We will also tackle solving real world problems!
Social Studies / Science - The Civil War / Ecosystems
- This week we will wrap up our Civil War unit by working on our Civil War Project (that is due on Wednesday).
- On Thursday we will begin our new science unit, Ecosystems!
Reading - 🏀March Madness (Test Prep/Author Study Unit)
- This week we will be continuing with March Madness in reader's workshop. This is a time where teachers will be 'coaching' students, and students will be participating in 'drills' to practice various 4th grade reading skills in preparation for the 'big game' (Milestones). We do not stress and/or reference Milestones often in class, but we DO remind students that this is a time where we practice and sharpen our skills to be the best fourth grader scholars we can be! We are using our ELA interims we have taken throughout the year to guide us on what skills/standards students need additional practice with.
Writing - 🏀March Madness (Test Prep/Author Study Unit)
- This week we will wrap up our second project for March Madness: Second Chance! Students are working hard to rewrite a scene from one of their author's books as if the character had made a different decision/choice (and what the effects of that would be). This week we will bring our scenes to life through different projects like Powtoons videos, Character Posters, and WeVideo Video Presentations!
