Happy Tuesday Panther Families!
We are excited to be entering our 5th week of 4th grade! This week is also College Week at NPE! More details are below :) We excited for another wonderful week!!
Some General Reminders and Announcements:
Curriculum Night: Thank you to everyone who was able to attend Curriculum Night! The Power Point we presented is up on the Weebly, so if you could not attend, please check it out. We will be posting our FAQs soon! :) http://fourthgradenpes.weebly.com/curriculum-night.html
College Week 2016: The purpose of facilitating College Week at New Prospect is to provide information about post-secondary education to our students and help them build the connection between their current studies and options available to them in the future. We want to help our students be “college and career ready,” foster an interest in different colleges and universities, and it's also a fun way to celebrate the start of college football season! :) Each classroom will have a door decorating contest, we will be sharing college facts on the morning announcements, and Friday is our college spirit wear day!
Google Classroom: Last week permission forms for Google Classroom were sent home. Google Classroom is a platform students will use frequently in our classes, but can only do so with a permission form. We would love to have all permission forms turned in by Friday. To learn a little more about Google Classroom, please check out the following video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K26iyyQMp_g
Field Trip T-Shirts: If you still need to purchase a field trip t-shirt, please use the button below to download a copy :) The revised deadline is now September 7th!
Tuesday (9/6)
- Reading: Read for 20 minutes and complete reading log
- Math: Worksheet assigned by math teacher
- Parents sign agendas
Wednesday (9/7)
- Reading: Read for 20 minutes and complete reading log
- Social Studies/Science: Students will read an article about Global Warming. While reading, students will highlight important information that they need to remember/use as we work through our PBL project. These articles will help front load information as well as be a resource/study tool for the students. Students may also complete think mark sticky notes if they wish (this is what they do when they are reading their novels). Additionally, since the article is rather long, it can also double as their 20 minutes of reading (and please have them log it in their reading log).
Thursday (9/8)
- Reading: Read for 20 minutes and complete reading log
- Math: Worksheet or Weebly practice assigned by math teacher
Friday (9/9)

- College Spirit Wear Day!
We hope that you have a wonderful week!
