We sincerely hope you all had an AMAZING Winter Break! While the break was wonderful, we are all so excited to be back with the kiddos - we have missed them so much! The kids came back refreshed, recharged, and ready to take on the second semester of 4th grade. Below are our reminders, announcements, and homework schedule for the week. As always, please reach out to your child's teacher if you have any questions!
Some General Reminders and Announcements:
Girls on the Run Registration Now Open! New Prospect is bringing back our Girls on the Run team! Girls on the Run is an after-school program for girls in 3rd - 5th grade that teaches life skills through exciting lessons and running games. The program culminates with girls being physically and emotionally prepared to complete a celebratory 5K running event. The goal of the program is to build confidence and give girls a lifetime appreciation of health and fitness.
Lottery registration for Girls on the Run will be from January 6 to 15 at 11:59 pm at https://www.girlsontherunatlanta.org/Program-Registration. For teams that do not fill during the lottery period, registration will re-open on January 16 and continue through February 12. GOTR meets twice a week, Monday and Wednesday from 2:30-4pm beginning the week of February 3 and ending the week of April 26 at New Prospect Elementary.
Girls on the Run uses an income-based sliding scale so that every girl who wants to participate can. The program registration fee is available on a sliding scale from $10 to $185. For more information and to register, visit https://www.girlsontherunatlanta.org/Program-Registration

Save the Date! Hands on New Prospect Day is coming up on February 22nd! Did you know that Fulton County only cuts the grass outside the school? All landscaping and any upkeep of our grounds has to be done by the school without any personnel to do help us. With this in mind, we are having a family event called Hands on New Prospect where we will spruce the place up a little bit and have some fun, too!
Mark Your Calendar:
- Saturday February 22nd 9:00am-2:00pm (Rain Date: February 29th)
This event is sponsored by the NPE PTA and the New Prospect Environmental Committee.
Important Upcoming Dates:
Please note that test dates are always considered tentative. If in the future the team decides that a test date needs to be changed (usually in the form of being pushed back if we feel that the students are not ready), we will communicate the change to you all. Until then, these dates represent our assessment plan.
- No tests are currently scheduled.
