What were our focuses this past week?
- Writing: Students continued working on their realistic fiction stories and began drafting! They began thinking about things such as "turning on the lights" in their stories (making sure the reader understands the setting), adding dialogue, and writing powerful endings.
- Reading: We have continued the class read aloud, Tiger Rising. We have been focusing specifically on describing events, characters, and setting in depth using text evidence as support.
- Math: **Please refer to the math blog pages for information**
- Science: Weather! This week, students learned how to read weather maps, identify different types of clouds, and explain the difference between weather and climate.
- Student Success Skills: Support Systems. Students participated in discussions about what a support system is and who is in their support system. Students also learned about ways to ask for help when needed and who to go to within their support system during challenging times.
