We hope you all had a great weekend! It's hard to believe that we are already halfway through September; if only the cooler temps would start to roll in! I think it's safe to say we are ALL ready for all things FALL!
We are excited for another week of learning in fourth grade. Please continue reading to check out our reminders, announcements, and homework schedule for the week. As always, please reach out to your child's teacher if you have any questions!
Some General Reminders and Announcements:
College Week!: It's college week at NPE! All week long NPE staff will be providing information about post-secondary education to our students and to help them build the connection between their current studies and options available to them in the future. We want to help our students be “college and career ready,” and foster an interest in different colleges and universities. On Friday, NPE staff will be wearing their college gear, and we invite the kiddos to do the same!
Heat Index Reminder: Just a friendly reminder that if our heat index reaches 95*F or higher by our recess time (11:50-12:20) , we have been advised by FCS to stay inside for recess (this communication was sent out to parents last week). We are following these precautions to help keep our kiddos safe in these extreme temps. On the days when it is hot, but we are still able to go out, we have also let the kids know that they can take their water bottles out with them so they can stay hydrated.
STEM Lab Needs (From Mrs. Davis): It is time to replenish the Stem “Store.” I am in need of water bottles, small boxes (shoe, etc.), paper (newspaper and magazines), and any cool little things you think our amazing engineers could use.
*Thank you to those that have already sent in some items! This will be the last week we will keep this reminder on the blog, but please know that you can ALWAYS donate to Mrs. Davis and the STEM lab at any time :)
Important Upcoming Dates:
Please note that test dates are always considered tentative. If in future the team decides that a test date needs to be changed (usually in the form of being pushed back if we feel that the students are not ready), we will communicate the change to you all. Until then, these dates represent our assessment plan.
