What are we focusing on this upcoming week?
- Writing: We are still working on argumentative essays! This week students finished organizing and planning their argumentative essays on the skills students need to succeed in future jobs. Next week, they will really work on writing their essays, focusing on structure, and adding in relevant text evidence and elaboration. These will be due Friday!
- Reading: Next week we are going to be connecting to content and reading social studies and science texts. We will be focusing on finding the central ideas and details in a text as well as recognizing the text structure of the texts. We will focus on the standard RI2 (Determine the main idea of a text and explain how it is supported by key details; summarize the text) and RI5 (Describe the overall structure (e.g., chronology, comparison, cause/effect, problem/solution) of events, ideas, concepts, or information in a text or part of a text).
- Math: Next week we will be reviewing for the upcoming math test. Study guides will be due Monday, so we can review over them and answer any questions. Our Unit test will be September 14th.
