Brrrr...it's cold outside! With the colder weather rapidly making its way into our community, the children will be donning more sweatshirts and jackets that will meet the Lost and Found if names are not written inside the articles of clothing. When the temperature is cooler in the morning but warms up throughout the day, students tend to remove the warmer articles of clothing and leave them outside at recess or on the bus. So, thank you in advance for labeling their coats, jackets, and sweatshirts!
Some General Reminders and Announcements:
Report Cards: Report Cards were sent home last Thursday in the blue folders. Please be sure to remove the report card and review it with our child. Then, return the signed envelope with you child this week. If you have any questions regarding your child's grades, please be sure to contact your child's teacher.
Buzz! Buzz! The Spelling Bee is coming to town! Mark your calendars. All Fourth Grade students will participate in a classroom spelling bee on Tuesday, November 26. This is two days after we return from Thanksgiving break. Spelling lists will be sent home with students in this Thursday's blue NPE folder. All students will be asked to participate, it's a good way to practice speaking and presentation skills. However, only one student will move on to represent our class in the school Spelling Bee, which will be held on December 5 from 8-9am. The winner from the school-wide Spelling Bee will move on to the county bee, which will be held in January.
STEM Lab Donations: The STEM lab is in need of water bottles, 2L soda bottles, toilet paper and paper towel rolls, and boxes (cereal, shoe etc.) If you can donate these items, Mrs. Davis would greatly appreciate it! She will have a donation box outside of her room. Thank you in advance!
Save the Date! Taste of New Prospect-November 8th
Taste of New Prospect, our school’s opportunity to highlight the food and fashion from the cultures represented by our students and staff, will be held on November 8 from 6-7:30pm. Invitations to sponsor a table or participate in the fashion show were sent home on September 27th. Start thinking about how you can participate in this exciting event and share more about your cultural background
