We hope you all had a relaxing weekend! We are in the second to last week before break, so things are going to be PRETTY busy around these parts :) Please stay up to date with all of the fourth grade happenings by checking out our reminders, announcements, and homework schedule for the week. As always, please reach out to your child's teacher if you have any questions!
Some General Reminders and Announcements:
Congratulations! Congratulations are in order for our very own Anvesha who won the NPE School Spelling Bee! Anvesha will represent NPE at the county level bee in January. We are SO proud of this accomplishment! Go Anvesha!
Holiday Shop: The Holiday Shop will be open all this week! Students may visit the Holiday Shop during homeroom, recess, grade level 'open' time, and during their classes specified time. The Holiday Shop allows students to purchase gifts for family and friends for the upcoming holidays. The students are so excited to give back to those they love and care about!
Winter Party: The fourth grade Winter Party will be on Tuesday, December 17th from 9:30-11. If you would like to volunteer for the party, you will (or might already have) receive communication from the CAT Mom(s) from your child's class regarding volunteer opportunities.
Pajama Day: Friday, December 20th will be a school wide pajama day! All 4 house raised so much money during the Book Fair, it was decided that the WHOLE school earned a pajama day. What a great way to enter Winter Break! :)
Winter Break: The last day of school before winter break will be Friday, December 20th. If your child will be absent that day (or any other days the final week of school before break), please let your child's teacher know so they can plan accordingly. Thank you!
Girls on the Run Coach Needed! Our Girls On The Run team is starting up again this February and we are looking for one more parent volunteer to help coach! This is a great organization that has girls in grades 3-5 learn lessons about healthy friendships, body positivity, and social and emotional skills while training for a 5k! If you think you would be interested in volunteering as one of our coaches, please see the information below and email Diana Zarzour at [email protected] for further information! The deadline for the coaches application is Dec. 15th.
- When: Practice will start the week of Feb. 3rd on Monday and Wednesday, but we only need a coach for Monday from 2:30-4pm after school. This will go on for 12 weeks until the race the weekend of April 25th in Atlanta.
- Do I need to be a runner: Not at all! The program is actually designed to help you train for a 5k, so it is great for experienced runners or new runners!
