From our CST Mrs. Zarzour:
As the school year comes to an end, we are going to be making classes for next school year in May. While the teachers and administrators will be deciding the classes, we also respect parent input as a part of the process to consider. If you would like to provide feedback on the type of classroom environment you feel your child thrives in or other considerations, please complete this form by April 28th for it to be considered in our student placement. Thank you!

What are we focusing on this upcoming week?
Writing: This week we focused on narrative extended constructed responses off of a text. They had to read a story and then write a new ending or write from a different character's perspective. They are doing an awesome job! We will continue with this practice next week as we write an original story using details from two nonfiction texts and then write a story off of a fable.
Reading: This week we continued to read various genres of text for students to practice and prepare for GA Milestones. We are reviewing all of the standards previously taught! Next week we will continue reading a variety of genres and practicing skills.
Math: This week we finished up line plots and moved into understanding degrees of angles and how to measure them using protractors. Next week we will measure angles, recognize angles as additive, decompose angles, and problem solve real world angle problems with addition and subtraction using diagrams and angles. We will also review for their Unit 7 test on Friday April 28th.
MGSE4.MD.5.a, An angle is measured with reference to a circle with its center at the common endpoint of the rays, by considering the fraction of the circular arc between the points where the two rays intersect the circle. An angle that turns through 1/360 of a circle is called a "one-degree angle," and can be used to measure angles.,
MGSE4.MD.5.b, An angle that turns through n one-degree angles is said to have an angle measure of n degrees.
MGSE4.MD.6, Measure angles in whole-number degrees using a protractor. Sketch angles of specified measure.
As we prepare for Ga Milestones, it is important students are completing their homework for extra practice.

4.2 (Ms. Smith): Next week in advanced math...
We will begin our work with multiplying fractions (NF.4 & NF.6).
For these standards, students need to understand how to multiply a fraction by a whole number, another fraction, or a mixed number.
We will practice this with finding the area of rectangles with fractional side lengths, as well as real-world problems.
