We are excited to be entering our 6th week of 4th grade! We are truly getting into the groove now, and it's been wonderful! We are excited for another wonderful week of learning with your kiddos!
Some General Reminders and Announcements:
Google Classroom: Two weeks ago permission forms for Google Classroom were sent home. Google Classroom is a platform students will use frequently in our classes, but can only do so with a permission form. If you have not turned in a permission form, there is still time! In the next few weeks, we would love to get Google Classroom up and running for the kiddos. To learn a little more about Google Classroom, please check out the following video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K26iyyQMp_g
Chromebooks: Chromebooks have arrived and students will be able to start using them after Sept.22. We are so excited for all of our new technology to arrive as that brings us to a 3:1 student to device ratio. Between classroom computers (3 per class) iPads (4 per class) , BYOT and the addition of our Chromebooks, many 4th grade classrooms will be closer to a 1:1 ratio. The possibilities are endless!! :)
Conferences: Fall conferences will begin in a couple of weeks. We will send out a Sign-Up Genius link to you all once we have confirmed dates. Keep an eye out for communication from your kiddo's homeroom teacher to fall conferences sign up :)
Studying at Home: In 4th grade, we really encourage students to find other ways to study for tests and assessments beyond just the study guide. Under the math tab, we have added a page titled 'General Math Resources' for the times when you feel like your kiddo needs additional study tools beyond what's on the Weebly or on the study guide. We have linked to websites that provide worksheets (and you can search by standard), information for online textbooks, some of our favorite video lesson sites, and more! Additionally, we also have a page dedicated to different ways to study. We encourage the students to utilize the 'How Can I Study?' page to find additional ways to prepare for an upcoming quiz or test.
