Can you believe that we are already on our 3rd week of school? Time is definitely flying by, and we are loving each moment with your sweet kiddos!! The kids have been so excited about their learning as we are getting the hang of math stations, reader's workshop and writer's workshop! We could not have asked for a better start to the school year!
Some general reminders:
- Thank you to everyone that has signed up with Class Dojo! We have almost 100% participation in all classes which is AWESOME! If you haven't signed up yet, it's not too late! If you think you lost your log in info, please email your child's homeroom teacher and we can send you a registration email instead :) This is a great tool for you to use to see how your child is doing each day, as well as an awesome tool to use to communicate with your child's teacher. We can send whole class 'broadcasts' as well as individual messages - it's awesome and super convenient!
- Please make sure to check your kiddos yellow folder! Many important papers have been making their way home these past couple of weeks. Additionally, last week we sent home a copy of a Student Contact Form. If you haven't already, please make sure that the info provided is correct, and sign the bottom. If there are errors, please include the corrections along with your signature. Please send these papers back in ASAP as they are needed by the front office :)
- Students are to show you their agendas on Monday night. On Monday morning we write in our homework for the whole week, along with any upcoming important dates. You only need to sign for Monday to indicate that you looked at the homework for the week. We will check for your signatures on Tuesday morning during homeroom.
- Bring Your Own Device! 4th grade is a 'bring your own device' grade level. These permission forms will be sent home this week. We do not traditionally send these permission slips home first thing in the school year as we need to establish classroom responsibilities and expectations before the kiddos take on this big step. Permission forms will be due Friday, and BYOD will begin on Monday, August 31st.
