We hope that you had an amazing weekend! It's hard to believe that we are now in our 3rd week of school! We are working hard learning and practicing all of our rules and procedures, and we are totally rocking them! We are also diving into various workshop models for all of our content areas, and the kids are catching on quick! :) It's going to be another amazing week in 4th grade!
Some General Reminders and Announcements:
Class Dojo: Please remember to log in to Class Dojo! This is a great way to check on your kiddos daily behavior and it also provides any easy way for the 4th grade teachers to communicate with you (and vice versa!). If you have lost your login info, you can email your child's homeroom teacher and they can forward you an electronic invite :)
Bring You Own Technology: Tomorrow (Tuesday), students will be bringing home a Bring Your Own Technology Permission form. We would LOVE to start BYOT on Monday (8/29) as we are diving into a PBL research project, so if forms could be returned by Friday (8/26), that would be awesome! Please remember, BYOT is always optional :) If you would like to learn more about BYOT, please follow the link to our BYOT page. http://fourthgradenpes.weebly.com/bring-your-own-technology.html
Math Olympiad: This year, the company called Compass Technology will be holding our Math Olympiad Practices. Are you still looking for an after school program to fit your Wednesday afternoons? Is your child interested in math or competitions? Then sign up for the Math-O-lympics program! Held on Wednesday afternoons from 2:30 - 3:45, this new program to New Prospect Elementary is a great way for your 4th or 5th grade student to have fun while learning. Check out their website at stem.compasstech.com for more details including an open house where you can see what the program will be like. Registration is open until August 31.
