Welcome to our first blog post of the year! We will always update our blogs on Mondays for the current week, so make sure to check back often :) This blog is what we call our "front page blog", where you will find important, general 4th grade reminders and the homework schedule for the week. We also maintain content blogs where you can find more specifics about what we are learning in our current units for the various content areas. These can be found under the 4th Grade Blog header at the top (hover over 4th grade blog and the content area drop down will appear). :)
We are excited to dive into our second week in 4th grade!! We had such a wonderful time getting to know all of our AMAZING students and we are so excited about the new year! We have been working hard learning all about 4th grade in general, class and school rules, and classroom procedures. These kids are already rocking it, and we are so proud! What a wonderful group!
Some General Reminders and Announcements:
Blue Folders/Signed Papers: If you have any remaining signed papers that were in the blue NPE folders from Sneak Peek please send them in. We want to make sure we are all up to date with our student information! :) Also, please make sure to check your kiddos blue folder regularly! Many important papers will be making their way home these next few of weeks :) We typically send home important papers/flyers on Thursday, though some quizzes/tests may come home on other days (we try to send them home asap.)
Technology/Google Classroom Permission Slips: Hopefully this week we will be sending home a technology packet from Ms. Bercher that will give students permission to begin using their Chromebooks. When we get these packets and they are on their way home, we will let you know, so that way they can be signed and returned as soon as possible. We are lucky enough to be 1:1 in fourth grade (where every kid gets a Chromebook assigned to them), but these permission slips must be signed in order for your child to participate. Please make sure to send these in as soon as possible after we send them home. The earlier they come in, the earlier we can start using this wonderful resource! :) As mentioned before, we will give you a heads up when these are on their way home!
Agendas: We now have our student agendas, and homework will officially begin this week. In 4th grade we fill out our agendas for the whole week on Monday, and students are to show you their agendas on Monday night. On Monday morning during homeroom we write in our homework for the whole week, along with any upcoming important dates. You only need to sign for Monday to indicate that you looked at the homework for the week. We will check for your signatures on Tuesday morning during homeroom. Homework will officially start this week (8/13).
Class Dojo: Class Dojo access codes went home last week, so if you have not signed up yet, please do so! Class Dojo is a wonderful resource for parents to see how their kiddos are doing throughout the day/week! :) Thank you to those that have already signed up!
