We hope you had a fantastic weekend and got to enjoy the beautiful weather! It's hard to believe that Spring Break is already 4 days away! While we have a short week this week, we still have lots going on to prepare for Milestones which will begin once we return from Spring Break. Don't forget to check out our content blogs to see exactly what we are working on this week :)
Some General Reminders and Announcements:
International Night: International Night was an amazing success! Thanks to all that participated and came out to enjoy one of the biggest events of the year! :)
Picture Day: Picture Day will be on March 29th! Please remember that we will do spring individual portraits, as well as class photos. Weather permitting, class photos will be outside :) Additionally, if you plan on purchasing pictures, payments will need to made BEFORE picture day. The photography company does not accept payment after picture day. Forms went home last week.
Relay for Life: NPES is collecting money for Relay for Life! We are so honored to partner with the amazing organization each year to raise funds for cancer research. If you did not get a chance to send in money on Friday, donations are still welcome online! http://main.acsevents.org/site/TR/?fr_id=83041&pg=personal&px=42204285
Thank you in advance for supporting this wonderful cause!
Book Fair: It's time to start planning for the Scholastic Book Fair May 5-17. The theme is the "Happy Camper Book Fair: S'more fun with books!" We are looking for volunteers to help with decorating, setting-up, student preview, student buying, and post-fair packing up. Please contact Sandy Treece, [email protected] for more information about volunteering.
More about the Book Fair....
We will focus on student Summer Reading. For each grade, we'll have teacher-selected picks based on student reading levels for on-level, advanced, and accelerated books. Avoid the summer reading slide by keeping your children reading during the summer! Profits from the book fair support the school through books, technology, online databases, Makerspace, and other student materials. Thank you for supporting our school!
Friday, March 31st: Please don't forget that Spring Break starts a day early this year! On Friday, March 31st, teachers will be participating in the Buck Institute Professional Development Day for Project Based Learning. Students will not have school on Friday :)
