We hope you had an awesome weekend!! Congrats to our Atlanta Falcons for making it to the Super Bowl! While we didn't get the outcome we hoped for, I think it's safe to say we are looking forward to next season!
We are already in our second week of February, if you can believe it! We are ready for another busy week in 4th grade! Please read below for our weekly updates :)
Some General Reminders and Announcements:
Snowflakes & Hotcakes Save the Date: Saturday, February 25th 8:30 AM
Snowflakes and Hotcakes is a fun, family event for New Prospect families and friends. Come enjoy free pancakes served by New Prospect teachers and dads. Buy raffle tickets for a chance to win incredible theme baskets created by each class. Bid in the live auction to win fabulous prizes! Mark your calendars because you don't want to miss this incredible event!
Fourth Grade Field Trip: Please don't forget that Friday (2/10) fourth grade will be traveling to Fernbank for a field trip! We are SO excited to get to experience the Wild Weather exhibit! For those that are bringing their lunch, please pack lunches in either a brown paper bag or a plastic bag. Thank you!
Reading/Writing Write Score: Fourth grade will be participating in Write Score for both reading and writing both this week and next week. Our writing Write Score day will be 2/8 (this Wednesday) and our reading Write Score day will be 2/14 (next Tuesday). Both assessments will be done during our normal reading and writing blocks. Write Score is an amazing tool Fulton County has purchased for us that allows us to see how our kiddos are progressing with and mastering our 4th grade RELA content/standards. This is a great, no stress 'check in' before Milestones :)
Valentine's Day: Next week fourth grade will be participating in Valentine's Day. As always, sending in Valentine's is not a requirement, but we do ask that if your kiddo chooses to participate, that they send in a Valentine for all classmates. Class lists will go home this week :) We will exchange Valentine's during our writing block (and we will also have a fun Valentine's Day themed writing activity as well!)
Birthday Treats: We have a lot of birthday's coming up across 4th grade, so we just wanted to remind parents to please email your child's homeroom teacher in advance if you plan on bringing in treats. We have various medical conditions/allergies across the grade level where we need a heads up (usually a day or 2) to find alternative treats/adjust medicines. Thank you for your cooperation on this very important matter!
