We all sincerely hope you had a wonderful break, and are having an awesome start to the New Year! We were so excited to welcome the kids back today :) This week we are starting new units in (almost) all areas, and getting back into the swing of things with our schedules. We are super excited to start the second semester!
Some General Reminders and Announcements:
Volunteers: We LOVE and appreciate our volunteers! Please remember that each year you need to complete the RAPTOR training 48 hours BEFORE you volunteer at our school. It is a simple process and required per Board Policy, examples include: (class parties, field trips, field day, mystery reader, watchdog dad, Media Center helper, STEM lab volunteer, etc...)
Before you volunteer at New Prospect Elementary School, please see the new information below this gives you step by step instructions on how to fill out your new volunteer forms. After you fill out the form, it takes 48 hours to process. This is a once-a-year process. All volunteers must complete this to be allowed into the classrooms, science labs, Watchdog programs, Field Day, etc.
Volunteers - The new automated process has been placed on the districts webpage – www.fultonschools.org. Volunteers may now register by clicking on "Community" and "Partners and Volunteers".
We appreciate all volunteers, and would be very sad to have any volunteer turned away due to non-compliance of the Fulton County Schools MANDATORY registration and training. It takes less than 20 minutes to complete. It is an individual process. Each parent must complete it to volunteer. You will also bring your ID to the front desk and have it scanned into the system only once after the 48-hour process time.
If you are not sure if you have been approved yet, please call Amy Batley at NPES front desk. (470-254-2800)
MLK Day & Release Day : MLK Day is January 16th (next Monday), and students are also out January 17th (Tuesday) so that teachers can recieve Buck Institute training. There will be no school both of those days. Enjoy the 4 day weekend!
Spirit Days/ PEP RALLY! Fridays are Spirit Day! Show your school spirit every Friday by wearing your spirit wear t-shirts. If the entire class shows school pride by wearing any article of school spirit clothing OR school colors, their class gets 10 extra minutes of recess on Friday! You can buy your school spirit clothing at the front office. Additionally, THIS FRIDAY we will have a pep rally to announce our HOUSE WINNER for December! Remember to wear your HOUSE colors!!
