It's our first full week back in the New Year, and the winter temperatures have finally arrived! We hope that you are staying warm! We are back in the swing of things in 4th grade and diving headfirst into new projects and content.
Some General Reminders and Announcements:
- Field Trip 1/14: We will be visiting the Teaching Museum to see The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. We are so excited! In addition, we will need a few parents to provide a healthy snack (clementines, goldfish, etc.) for the entire in class in the afternoon on this day since our lunch schedule was changed a little bit to accommodate the program time at the Teaching Museum. We have heard great reviews about the performance and are really looking forward to this opportunity!
- Think First, Stay Safe: Students will be coming home with a form from our guidance counselor, Ms. McLeod, detailing information about a personal safety curriculum called Think First, Stay Safe that Fulton County has implemented into our schools. This form must be signed and returned only if you would like your child to opt out of the program, and not have your child participate in these lessons. Mrs. McLeod will be visiting us in February to teach these lessons.
- American Revolution Project: Students have dived into their American Revolution projects for writing and they are loving it! Students are always welcome to continue their research at home, so they can work on their technology presentations in class (though it is not a requirement).
- Science & Social Studies IXL: Science and socials studies IXL is now available to all students 2-5! We are VERY excited about this addition to our IXL program, as this will be a wonderful tool for continued review/practice throughout the year. Please take advantage of this amazing resource!
- MLK Day 1/18: Yay for a 3 day weekend! :)
