Happy October wonderful parents! :)
We hope you all had a wonderful (fall feeling) weekend! The weather was gorgeous, and we hope you all were able to get out and enjoy it!! We have another awesome, (yet busy!) week in 4th grade! :)
Some General Reminders and Announcements:
Reflections Contest: The Reflections Arts Recognition Program is a national arts recognition and achievement program for students. The Reflections Program provides an excellent opportunity for students of all ages to unleash their creative talents and be inspired, express themselves imaginatively in their artwork, experience the joy and fun of making art, tap into critical thinking skills to create art inspired by the annual theme, and receive positive recognition for their original works of art. This year’s theme is “WHAT IS YOUR STORY?”. Every student is recognized for their accomplishments with the opportunity for state and national awards and recognition. In addition, each student who participates will receive a Goody Bag and an invitation to a Celebration Breakfast with their parents. Students may explore 1 or all 6 arts disciplines, including: Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography and Visual Arts. Children can submit as many entries as they wish. All entries must be Original Artwork.
APPLICATIONS AND RULES PACKETS CAN BE FOUND OUTSIDE THE CLINIC OFFICE AT NEW PROSPECT.
DEADLINE FOR ENTRIES IS OCTOBER 14, 2016.
Drop off your artwork in the box below the PTA table outside the clinic office.

Donation Needs: We need your help! Some of our students need a weighted stuffed animal to hold on their lap during the day to help keep themselves calm and ready for learning. You can help fill this need by:
- Donating new, medium-sized stuffed animals
- Donating your sewing skills and time
- Making a donation towards purchasing pellets/weighted stuffing
You can contact our occupational therapist, Jenna Snyder, for more information or to volunteer.
Thank you for helping support our students!
Operation Helping Hands Week! For the week of October 3 - 6, PTA will be collecting used coats, hats, mittens and gloves for North Fulton Community Charities. Please drop off your donation in the OHH bins outside of the Media Center. Thank you!

There is still time to close the gap and win the race!
Project Based Learning: Are you wondering about project-based learning? Below are links to a (short) video clip & article about why we believe there is a need for our staff to learn how to better help ALL of our students learn differently - thus the reason our School Governance Council is pursuing project based learning training for ALL of our staff through our request for flexibility.
