This week, your child will continue to work on their research projects for their Social Studies Unit: Native Americans. The six tribes we will be researching are the Inuit (Artic), Pawnee (Plains), Hopi (Southwest), Nez Perce (Plateau), Kwakiutl (Northwest), Seminole (Southeast), but will also continue to review for the Unit 1 Assessment. During this unit, your child will work on a project in order to become "experts" on their assigned tribe. For this project, your child will be a assigned a specific tribe to research. Homework and class time will be dedicated to researching the tribe. Students will be using the media center and technology to find information. A handout with more details can be found under the Content/Social Studies tab. We cannot wait to see what the children come up with!
Students will be taking the Unit 1 vocabulary quiz over the unit terms on Monday, October 5th. Also, students will be given their Unit 1 study guides. Please remind your child to review. The Unit 1 assessment will be taken on Tuesday, October 20th!
The Unit 1 vocabulary list can be found under the "Content" tab. Please remind your child to study and become familiar with these terms. They will be popping up in their research and it is important that they understand the meanings of these words!
