Welcome Back Panthers! This week marks the final week of this Social Studies unit. Students will be completing their Civil War & Reconstruction choice boards throughout this week. Choice Boards are due Friday. Students will be reviewing the material learned prior to Spring Break via Kahoots!, and videos.
This week brings our unit on The Civil War, & Reconstruction to a close. This week students are learning about the Freedmen's Buearu, Sharecropping, and Jim Crow Laws. Be ready though! Choice Boards start the week after Spring Break!
This week, 4th grade will be transitioning from The Civil War, and moving into Reconstruction. Students will be concluding Civil War by researching key figures of the Civil War. Later this week, students will be learning about the "Reconstruction Amendments" and their purposes. There's lots to learn this week, be sure to ask your student what their favorite part is so far!
Last week, we started our Civil War & Reconstruction in Social Studies. This week, we will continue our discussion about the start of the Civil War and then we will start discussing the major events of the Civil War; Fort Sumter, Gettysburg, Sherman's March to the Sea, and Appomattox Court House. Students will be investigating these events by looking at them firsthand

Tomorrow, we will be launching our 4th social studies unit, Civil War and Reconstruction. In this unit, students will learn about the causes and major events of the Civil War. Students will also be investigating the effects of the Civil War on the North & South.
This week, we are focusing on the causes that lead to the beginning of the Civil War. Students will be investigating the different points of view from Northerners, and Southerners. Be sure to ask your students about the inquiry activities they are completing this week!
