Thank you to all who came to join us for the potlatch on Friday! It was a great success and so fun to see the children present! Today, students will be reviewing for the Unit 1 Native American assessment. This assessment will be taken tomorrow (10/20/15). The study guide can be found under the "Content" tab.
On Wednesday, your child will be introduced to our next science unit: Stars, Star Patterns, and Planets! They will be coming home with their unit vocabulary on Wednesday, as well. They will be quizzed over these words next Tuesday, October 27th.

Standards for the Native American Unit:
SS4H1 - The students will describe how early Native American cultures developed in North America.
SS4H1.a - Locate where the American Indians settled with emphasis on Arctic (Inuit), Northwest (Kwakiutl), Plateau (Nez Perce), Southwest (Hopi), Plains (Pawnee), and Southeastern (Seminole).
SS4H1.b - Describe how the American Indians used their environment to obtain food, clothing, and shelter.
Standards for the Stars, Star Patterns, and Planets Unit:
S4E1 - Students will compare and contrast the physical attributes of stars, star patterns, and planets.
S4E2 - Students will model the position and motion of the earth in the solar system and will explain the role of relative position and motion in determining sequence of the phases of the moon.
Social Studies/Science Homework for the Week:
Monday (10/19/15): Study for tomorrow's Native American Assessment!
Wednesday (10/21/15): Study new science vocabulary (20-25 minutes)
