Last week, your child was introduced to Unit 4: Light. During this short unit, SW become more familiar with how light travels, how it reflects and refracts, and how it travels through mediums. Also, students will start their first Project Based Learning project! In class, students will piece together a window sample using a variety of objects provided. At the end of this project, students will be able to identify objects that transparent, translucent, and opaque. They will also be able to explain the differences between those mediums and how light shines through each. Students will receive differentiated tasks and instruction to hit all three standards throughout the project. This project is hands-on and will require deep thought. We are all very excited to see what the students create! Students were given their unit vocabulary sheets last week. There will be a unit vocabulary quiz on Wednesday, December 16th!
